my grandparents had a black one on the front porch of their house. until, that is, my aunt was having her wedding there and a black guy was invited so they painted it white.
I wonder if the black guy was comforted by that.... Of course, my grandparents may have just cancelled the wedding.
epilogue:
the marriage ended in divorce.
painting it was bad luck? it should have been tossed--black or white-- for tackiness factor alone.
